I've never had my audio setup complete for any of the local shows I've been at, but this year I want to see how my setup will go against others. Can anyone give me a little more input into what these classes mean? Mostly, I just want to know how hard it will hit and get a dB rating. If I win while I'm at it, so be it. I have two Diamond Audio 15's powered by an Rockford 500bd amp MB Quart 6x9's and by show time, hopefully Boston Pro component set I only have the one amp running right now. really it depends on what kind of vehicle it is in and the type of box you have them in. and i know that a 500 rockford wont push 2 diamond 15s nearly hard enough a friend of mine has one diamond d6 12 in a really small box and is pushing it with a 1000 watt monoblock pg amp and the sub is asking for more. i deal more with the db drag racing assn rules and classes more than the IASCA rules and classes. and i am not trying to sound demeaning or anything but why would you spend the money on putting boston ascustics 6x9s in there if you are competing in spl classes they wont help you any and the 6x9 wont put out the clarity that 6s will which is the only reason to spend the money on boston is to enter sound quality contests. my opinion for whatever its worth is to run a set of diamond d6 6in mids and tweets sell your 15s and buy eithar 2 10s or 1 12 diamond d6 powered correctly and in the right enclosure not only will look alot better but will probably hit alot harder as well and will sound phenominal or if you want to go with an spl set up get some t3 audio subs (which is what i run) and keep the mids and highs you already have. like i said i run t3 audio subs and stock mids but i am gonna upgrade to diamond d6 soon and i am hitting 165 db with 3 12s but i am soon adding a 4th in my 06 ford ranger extended cab |
